Lifestyle Coaching
Many people ask me what lifestyle coaching is. Making lifestyle changes such as losing weight, increasing fitness, reducing stress, changing your diet, simplifying your life or changing careers can be difficult to do alone. Sometimes a partner can help you reach clarity on what you want to do, or how to best go about it. A coaching relationship can last a few months, or longer depending on what you want to accomplish. I offer the following coaching packages:
  • 1 one-hour session per month - $75
  • 2 one-hour sessions per month - $125 
  • 3 one-hour sessions per month - $180

These are services I have designed specifically to support you based on my years of study and experience. They will provide you insights into current situations and future opportunities.  All services are delivered at Camp Cirihal, in a lovely lake setting in complete serenity and privacy. Inner Quest
This service was created to honor Native American ceremony and rituals. After sharing a little about yourself and the situation for which you want guidance, we use animal medicine cards with a spread chosen to reflect the answers or wisdom you seek. Each card represents the power, or medicine that the animal represents, and guides you to wisdom in any situation or desire. This powerful, helpful experience can put you at ease and give you clarity.

Body Wisdom
The body has its own wisdom and often tries to tell  us when something needs our attention long before we might be aware of it. In deep relaxation, your body reveals its messages to you.  You will learn how to listen to those messages and better understand any symptoms manifesting in your body. This is a guided exploration that requires your active participation. Your reward is a new way to relate to your body.

Private Nia or Hooping
Whether you want to enhance your physical performance or simply get back into shape,  I can design a session focused on your desires and needs.  More attention means faster learning and enjoyment.

Meditation
Meditation  is a daily practice that allows you to relax your mind and body.  This experiential consultation will teach you basic meditation principles including posture, breathing, and the mental focus needed to help you quiet your mind. This may be booked individually or as a shared session for two.

Compassionate Communication
A session designed to offer strategies to enhance authentic speech, so that communicating and listening emanate clearly and directly from the heart. You will learn supportive and nurturing communication methods, as well as enhanced techniques to speak with a more compassionate, open, and responsible dialogue.  This frees a considerable amount of energy so that you are able to view yourself, others, and the world in more positive light.

Harmony
Achieve peace in any situation by using the tools learned in this session. You will receive a personalized, guided meditation to relax you, and then be led through a process to examine your stressful beliefs to discover what is really true for you. This has proven to be the most profound and life altering session offered.

Visioning
In this session, you learn how to bring your dreams to life.  We start with a clear articulation of your desire, and then create a collage of inspiring images and words to take home with you. You will also learn how to keep the process alive to help empower you to manifest your goals and wishes for the future. A fun and experiential process that will reveal your heart and soul's desires.

Wellness Jumpstart
Set change in motion with our support. In this session, you will take a wellness assessment to identify areas of highest leverage in enhancing your wellness. Then, we'll develop a customized plan for you based on your body's wisdom and needs. This guided exploration's reward is discovering a new way to relate to your body.

Hooping:  Pilates Results with Zumba Fun!

Thought hula hooping was just for kids? Well, think again! Hooping is sweeping the nation as a great new exercise for adults. Noticeably heavier than toy 'hula hoops,' the strategically weighted hoops are easier to keep around your waist (vs. your ankles) than a kid’s plastic hoop.  Yet because it requires constant push-pull contractions in your core muscles (abs plus obliques, at the sides of your waist) as well as in the glutes and thighs, the added resistance created by a somewhat heavier hoop has a remarkable way of sculpting and reshaping in all the right places.

The
benefits of hooping include:
  • burns up to 600 - 700 calories per hour
  • sculpts the body
  • speeds weight loss
  • relieves stress
  • develops balance and coordination
  • enhances creativity
All this takes hooping beyond a "craze" and into the territory of a serious exercise method — right up there with Pilates, Spinning or Tae Bo. Major fitness-center chains around the world have begun to offer regularly scheduled hooping classes, and the new take on hooping has been covered by media including the L.A. Times, “The View,” Vogue, Spin, Rolling Stone and MSNBC.  It also can burn as much as 100 calories every 10 minutes. That’s as much as running on a treadmill — and a lot more fun.  And it’s low-impact, so it won’t put a lot of stress on your joints.

Above all, hooping emphasizes appreciating your body as-is. It goes beyond just wanting to change your physique. Like with Nia, the goal is not only better fitness, but also improving the connection between your mind and body. These are movements proven to reduce stress, relieve chronic pain ... but most important, this will give you a sense of peace and radiance.

Nia Technique:  The LOVE YOUR BODY Workout

Nia is an amazing and fun workout and an expressive movement practice that uses the body's most comfortable and pleasurable way to achieve physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual fitness and well-being. Creatively combining centuries old healing practices with powerful martial arts moves in an energizing dance format, Nia is an all over workout - inside and out!


The movement forms that inspire Nia are:

Three Dance Arts: Duncan Dance, Jazz, and Modern, which give the body, mind, emotions, and spirit an avenue of expression.
Three Martial Arts: T'ai Chi, Aikido, and Tae Kwon Do, which promote strength, confidence, and empowerment; and
Three Healing Arts: Yoga, Alexander Technique, and the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, which promote personal and physical exploration, transformation, and healing.
Nia is a transformational experience which guides you to move your body the way it was intended to move. We call this The Body's Way™. It's an amazing way to get fit since there is no aim for pain. Nia is based on the Pleasure Principle: If it feels good, keep doing it; if it hurts, stop. Nia can be a challenging workout as well as a soothing practice for your body's condition. Best of all, Nia is fun. In case you need reassurance, your time in class will make you sweat; Nia is a safe, effective, cardiovascular workout.

Everyone is welcome
(and encouraged) to take any Nia class. All ages, body types, and fitness levels can participate together in the same class. No prior training is necessary. In Nia, you will discover your athleticism, your inner vixen, creative expression through movement, your body's cranky and strong places, and a sense of exhilaration within stillness. Everyone's Nia experience will be different on any given day, but some things will be universal; you'll love the time spent on yourself, you'll love your body's response to the practice, and you'll be so happy to meet and join the other dancers. This is exercise like you've never known it.
